Go digital with your loyalty program and coupons
Part two of our series regarding ways to attract and keep millennial customers looks at digital deals and programs. While carrying coupons may not be cool (not environmentally sound to many either), millennials still want to save a couple dollars lunch too. Using digital coupons via your app or email provides an experience tech savvy guest expect. Utilize location-based social media “check-in” specials that allow guest to save using their phone. When a guest checks in it could be seen by thousands of potential guest in some cases at a very low cost. Ditch plastic key chain loyalty cards and stick with electronic media only for the most part. Today’s guest want everything accessible on their mobile and to share experiences with all their friends. Consider it a bonus because you’re collecting vital data to use in future marketing every time they redeem an offer. A great loyalty/rewards platform should empower you to send coupons and offers uniquely special to individual customers. Those special offers should be one time use only in cases of great offers.
Engage guest to keep them coming back, a guest engagement App does that.
Don’t make this harder than it should be. Simply put build value in your guest returning to your restaurant. Use the technology that they use to do it. Don’t reinvent the wheel jump on this sustainable new way of doing business. Some things have not changed thank goodness. Just remember what we already knew from the last century about marketing efforts because it’s still relevant. It is still far more efficient to market to existing customers than it is new ones. Market to the guest that already like you, their word of mouth is invaluable. Their word of mouth is now down via social media which reaches so many more people. You want that guest taking a picture of their food and posting it. Years ago you would have paid big bucks for that in print, right?
